WHO ARE WE?

Afrocentric Media House is a storytelling institution within the literature space. We believe that human progress is grounded in stories, and it is for this reason that we exist to serve storytellers, leaders, and professionals. We are paving a smooth road so they can be able to tell their stories, most importantly– controlling the narrative.

Our motto says, ‘Your story, Your narrative’, this motto is the philosophy of how all our projects are led and delivered. Through the Socratic approach of consultation, we can lead our clients to the endpoint that they want to arrive to. We do not dictate the process but are there to guide our clients in their storytelling and narrative crafting voyage.

The services we offer are on a self-publishing basis, with traditional publishing only for non-fiction writers whose work has been reviewed by our team of editors.

OUR SERVICES

• Writing consultations

Have an idea, a dream? We can make it happen. Join our family, we offer free consultation to achieve.

Proof Reading

Proofreading deals with refining a literary work, it is a process of carefully checking for errors in a text before it is published or shared. It is the very last stage of the writing process, it involves fixing minor spelling and punctuation mistakes, typos, formatting issues, and inconsistencies.

Book Printing

Here we can have the different printing packages minimum of 100 copies, with the page number differences.

Ghost Writing

A ghostwriter is hired to write literary works(books) on behalf of someone who wants to share a story they have. Ghostwriters are necessary for individuals who want to produce books but do not have the literary ability to do so, they would typically have a story and need someone to help them pen it down. Ghostwriters do not own the work produced, the ownership belongs to the owner of the story(book). This service is often ideal for people who want to produce Memoirs & Autobiography.

Book Editing

Editing is perhaps one of the most crucial ASPECT in publishing, you see we have it capitalized, it is not a mistake, that is how big it is. Often editing is confused with proofreading. Editing is not Fixing grammar, or punctuation, No, it is something more.

Book Cover Designs.

A good book cover goes a long way. This process involves having a conversation with our writer pertaining to how they want their book cover to be and bouncing off ideas till there is a clear idea that we can work on, this information is then shared with our graphics team.

• Transcribing

Transcribing entails listening to recorded audio (or video) and typing what you hear word-for-word. This service is ideal for people who do not have the time to sit and write down their work(book), but are able to produce recordings of what they want their book to have. Through this service, clients are able to write their books without holding a pen or typing down a single word.

What People Say About Us

Howard Zondo

Author
The writing consultations gave me so many ideas about how I could go about expanding the narrative of my story, I had not thought to a great extent about what I was really trying to communicate through my story, but I was able to deepen the scope of my thoughts about my story, I am grateful to the editing team.

Fortune Bhembe

Author

When you're a first-time author there is so much that you do not know about the process of publishing, and the various things that are involved, not only from the writing and publishing but also the business side of being an author. I thank the Afrocentric media team for helping me see the many ways I could build a business around my book.

Charles Molaba

Author

The team went beyond and above the scope of their work, I am happy that at any given point in time I can still call when I am having challenges with my work even after publishing.

Zuko Gqadavama

Author
I was made to be involved in every part of my book, given suggestions I could have not thought about on my own, the team felt more like a family than a work team, Asante.

My highlights are from the continuous consultation session we had at every turn, I loved the wealth of knowledge the guys had about the process, and the thoughts that I didn't even know I had.
