 What is self-publishing? I am almost certain that if you have landed on this page, you are either a budding writer who has aspirations of writing a book, or you have already written your book, and you are looking for avenues that can help you reach your book publishing desires. If you resonate with the above, then this post may just give you a bit of direction in terms of understanding the South African Publishing market, and the greater publishing world.

I began writing decades ago, and when I started thinking of publishing, I knew that I did not want to go the traditional publishing route, I wanted to be the only person who had the power to decide the fate of writing journey, and so self-publishing was appealing for me. Changing Perceptions: As self-published authors achieve success and recognition, there has been a shift in perceptions within the industry and among readers. Quality self-published books are increasingly being taken seriously, challenging the traditional stigma associated with self-publishing.

Entrepreneurial Opportunities: opportunities for writers to become entrepreneurs and build their own publishing brands. By leveraging digital marketing techniques and building a loyal readership, self-published authors can create sustainable careers and bypass the gatekeepers of traditional publishing.
